Last night I had the most amazing catch up date with my former work wifey Megan! I miss her like a fat kid misses cake, you crave it until you have it and when you do, you just want more...this is Megan, she's just so fun!
After some confusion about where we should meet, we ended up at Casellula in Hells Kitchen. We walked in and got seated right away. When that happens in a super crowded restaurant you know it's going to be a great night. Casellula is charming, intimate and has an amazing wine list to boot, you won't want to leave. And actually we didn't but there was a couple waiting for our cozy corner and so alas...
We shared a small bottle of the most delicious Sancerre (full and round with gooseberry/grapefruit notes and a clean finish). It paired so nicely with the 3 cheeses they picked for us, let them pick, just tell them what flavors you like/dont like and have them work their magic, you won't be disappointed! We also shared the beef brisket steamed buns...a beautiful blend of all the right flavors: pineapple bbq sauce and chipotle aioli, the buns were topped with miso-pickled daikon which gave it a tangy kick! And the dessert...HELLO...I can't even remember what all was in it but the photo speaks for itself...DELISH AND DONE! That's what they should call it but it's actually called Date Night. So schedule a date night...order the date night...you'll be glad you did!
