Slanted Door is one of my favorite SF restaurants! I was roaming the ferry building after an 8 mile morning run and while there are so many yummo options at every turn I was feeling a bit celebratory…it was my first time ever running 8 miles! So in sweaty running gear we found ourselves at Slanted Door. I don't recommend you come dressed as we did but that's why I love SF...you can wear pretty much whatever you want even at a classy establishment like this one!
It can get pricey but we made a point to not overindulge and keep it light. We stuck to apps and soups instead of mains and all of it hands down HIT the spot!!! We ordered…
Spring rolls ($13)
Vietnamese Chicken Noodle soup ~ Pho Ga ($8)
Pho ($8)
Vermicelli Rice Noodles w/ Chicken ($14)
I may have splurged with their Agricole Rhum Punch dusted with nutmeg…every sip was worth it!!! The cocktails are always so expertly crafted and tasty! Kudos to the mixologist behind the bar!
We had been so good at lunch why not be a teeny bit bad for dessert. My high school friend Phi had never been to Humphry Slocombe and I was oh so excited to introduce her to it!
If you go, you must get the Secret Breakfast...my absolute fave! We ordered one scoop of that and one of Blue Bottle Vietnamese Coffee. That scoop of secret breakfast was gone in a matter of seconds! What's the secret? Bourbon and cornflakes deliciousness.
They've got all kinds of fun flavors from Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple to Green Tea Black Sesame…certainly there's one to fit your fancy! Scoop it up :)
